San Diego Asian Cultural Festival 2011
5/1/11 -
The San Diego Asian Cultural Festival came and went again this year on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon. It was the festival’s second year and it had a great turn out. There were 2 stages with over 30 different performances of live music, cooking, and cultural demonstrations. There was also “cultural row” booths, and community booths.
I enjoyed watching Hawaiian dancers, Taiko drummers, singers, and martial arts demonstrations. Of course I had to sample the food in the food area, so I tried some Pad Thai and Thai tea.
I walked around and saw a lot of community businesses and organizations represented. It was sponsored by Wells Fargo, Barona Casino, National Asian American Coalition, Sharp Memorial Hospital, Verizon Wireless, the American Red Cross, the Union-Tribune, and Southwest Airlines.
Although the Asian Cultural Festival only happens once per year, you can look forward to the Filipino American Fest in September and the AMP Asian Music Festival in August. For more information go to www.SilkRoadProductions.us

I am a San Diego native and permanent tourist. I love exploring and discovering fun things to see and do in this city. There are so many fun things to do... all of the outdoor activities, theater, concerts, events, festivals, restaurants, sports, and much more. There is definitely something for everyone in this beautiful city and I love doing it all. I made this site to share the city with you.
