Jose Cuervo Tradicional Party

Jose Cuervo throws one hell of a party. It is kind of expected from a tequila since it is known as a party drink. I went to the Jose Cuervo party at NTC Promenade and I had a fantastic time. They had a cool painted skull theme which I loved, so when you walked in there were a bunch of tables with painted skulls and candles in a sacrificial kind of way. The hostesses all had their faces painted in fancy cool skulls. When you walked in the room, you were greeted by two giant dancing skeletons on the dance floor surrounded by beautiful ladies with painted skull faces. There were two food stations with burritos and street taco buffet. They had face painters so you could get a cool skull painted on your face. On one end of the room there was a giant screen with a video of a painted skull face just looking around the room. There was a stage with couches and people dressed completely in black so they looked like shadows. They also had hostesses passing around shots of tequila.

San Diego Asian Cultural Festival 2011

Posted by admin On May - 4 - 2011 ADD COMMENTS

5/1/11 -

The San Diego Asian Cultural Festival came and went again this year on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon. It was the festival’s second year and it had a great turn out. There were 2 stages with over 30 different performances of live music, cooking, and cultural demonstrations. There was also “cultural row” booths, and community booths.

I enjoyed watching Hawaiian dancers, Taiko drummers, singers, and martial arts demonstrations. Of course I had to sample the food in the food area, so I tried some Pad Thai and Thai tea.

I walked around and saw a lot of community businesses and organizations represented. It was sponsored by Wells Fargo, Barona Casino, National Asian American Coalition, Sharp Memorial Hospital, Verizon Wireless, the American Red Cross, the Union-Tribune, and Southwest Airlines.

Although the Asian Cultural Festival only happens once per year, you can look forward to the Filipino American Fest in September and the AMP Asian Music Festival in August. For more information go to www.SilkRoadProductions.us
